The suitable candidate will be based in the York Pway Design Team and will undertake a Principal Engineer and CRE role on Pway design projects. The successful candidate will act as a mentor to other design team members and support the more senior staff towards the attainment of CRE status. Regular interaction and liaison with Project Managers and other discipline CRE's will also be required to ensure the successful delivery of fully integrated multi discipline designs.

You will be a key member of the engineering software function and will be responsible for producing and certifying safety-critical, real-time embedded software for our engine control systems. These roles span all aspects of the software lifcycle from requirements capture and analysis to fault finding and diagnostics.
Lead and direct allocated design resources in the delivery of conceptual and detailed electrical design. Undertake the production of preliminary and detailed designs and associated plans/drawings/documentation. Planning and organising activities and resources to meet programme deadlines.
Based in our York office, you will be responsible for the provision of professional signal engineering input throughout the complete project lifecycle (GRIP 1-8), with a particular emphasis on GRIP 3 and 4 design associated with Level Crossing renewals.
As part of this role, the successful candidate will undertake assignments covering the delivery of high voltage (up to 400kV) substations and the design/condition assessment of existing substations.
As a Principal Design Engineer you will have hands on delivery of technical challenges provided by a wide range of signalling related projects, and undertake or independently check complex detailed signalling design work.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will provide sound geotechnical design, assessment and reporting skills to ensure project requirements are met.
