This position is part of the Legal Department and as a Corporate M&A Attorney focuses on all aspects of mergers and acquisitions as well as investments. Manages a variety of M&A and investment transactions, has the presence and ability to advise senior management, and has the ring leader spirit to lead a team, bring confidence and determination to the acquisition teams and contribute to the management and direction of a constantly evolving business.
The purpose of the role is to support BP M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) activities in identifying and managing the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) aspects that impact major transactions, generally greater than US$50 million. Transactions include divestments, acquisitions and joint venture formation.

We are looking to bring a highly competent M&A/corporate finance skill-set to the Centrica plc Group Mergers & Acquisitions team. This will have been developed in; investment banks, corporate finance boutiques, Big 4 accounting firm or an M&A team at a large international corporate.
Role synopsis M&A is a centralized function based in London and Houston reporting to Group CFO and serving the Corporate Centre and all of BP’s global businesses.The team consists of highly experienced M&A career professionals as well as high-potential individuals, who join the department on two-year (Associates) or three-year (Project Managers) rotational assignments.
You will be dealing with the highest calibre of Financial Services Clients and get direct exposure to all aspects of the deal. 4-5 years Corporate Finance experience is essential. Outstanding individuals from Big 4 with a Financial Services background will also be considered.
A background in MandA at a top tier bank / boutique is essential. You will work directly with high calibre Financial Institutions in the UK and Internationally. You will also gain experience by working with senior members of the team on business development and client pitches.
The role provides cross segment exposure and the opportunity to build broader networks across the company. M&A participates in shaping and delivery of group strategy of all business streams.

You will have a strong commercially-focused background with significant experience in one or more of the BI/DW/GRC sectors, be a self-starter, have a broad understanding of the BI landscape, and be comfortable in dealing with C-Level executives in the implementation of both short-term and long-term business and technology strategy.
In this Account Director role you will be selling a full portfolio of Core Infrastructure, Business Applications and Complex Services into the Trade Industry vertical. You will be given some warm accounts to go at although you will be required to get about your vertical and make things happen.
