They typically sell to 5k seat and upwards sized companies. They are currently recruiting for eight new sales people across a range of verticals (not public sector) and some of the roles are new business and some account management.
Historically they have recruited seasoned, experienced salespeople who have a very good knowledge of the backup, virtualisation and storage market. Their latest round of hiring is to recruit slightly more junior salespeople, ideally from a VAR who want to make a big move in the vendor community.
The product is highly configurable and has all of the functionality you would associate with a tier one solution. They sell direct to end users and the order value starts at around £75k and they closed two £500k + deals last year.
This role is to sell into a wide variety of public sector accounts. The role is an end user sales role and deals are fulfilled through the channel. To be considered for this role you must have a background in IT sales.
My client has tremendous experience in this market and the founders of the business are a combination of procurement and software development experts and they have developed a market leading solution.
