The Bid Manager is responsible for winning good business for Services. This key role leads a bid team and is responsible for the creation of high quality winning bids, developing the unique commercial proposition/business case for each opportunity and negotiating the commercial terms with the Customer.
The primary purpose of this role is to supply robust engineering inputs on each bid. The objectives of the role range from development of innovative and accurate maintenance cost data and train performance regime risk calculations to the generation of engineering hour requirements on bids.
Responsibility for the analysis of contract documents; assessment of risk coming into business and preparation of approvals (Blue Book) submission for complex projects.
To build total market knowledge of the respective commodities and associated supply chain to reduce full life cycle costs.
To co-ordinate the compilation of supply chain data and information for UK SER Bids within Material Solutions to enable the approval of a bid in accordance with Group and Divisional processes.
The position involves working on diverse projects, often working closely with our groups in buildings, transportation and environment and also with leading developers and civil engineering contractors.
You must be a strategic thinker and have a wealth of implementation and delivery experience in large UK and Mainland Europe IT & Business transformation Programmes. Solid Business systems/data and infrastructure transformation skills are a must, as is experience within the transportation and logistics industry.
