Automatic Control and Systems Engineering is one of the largest departments devoted to this subject area in the UK and Europe. It comprises of 21 academic staff with a further 3 staff joining in April 2012, 26 research staff, 20 support staff and over 380 undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are an internationally leading research department and have a vibrant research culture spanning many aspects of Control and Systems Engineering.

We are currently investing in a strategic appointment designed to enhance and expand our exceptionally strong research and teaching in Information Management or Information Systems and related areas. The appointee will join a vibrant research group and make a strong contribution to core and specialist undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the School, and to supervision of research students.

You are wholly responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Farnell Europe Trade Compliance policies and procedures in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations, including influencing systems changes, processes, training and documentation.
You will be a key member of the engineering software function and will be responsible for producing and certifying safety-critical, real-time embedded software for our engine control systems. These roles span all aspects of the software lifcycle from requirements capture and analysis to fault finding and diagnostics.
