We’re looking for a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead operations at our busy Crewe Distribution Centre. This is a pivotal role for someone with deep expertise in transport and logistics, ideally gained in a unionised environment. You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing complex transport networks, and leading teams with confidence and clarity.

Role details:
Salary: Up to £66,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Gist Limited, Crewe, CW1 6FB
What you’ll do:
11. You will plan and deliver all operations transport activities through your team of Transport Shift Manager, to ensure the required level of service is provided
12. Effectively motivate, manage and inspire your team to develop and grow the skills of their team
13. Drive Continuous Improvement within the operation
14. Provide inspirational leadership to your team and work in partnership with M&S & our customers to ensure productivity, accuracy and cost targets are met and exceeded
Who you are:
15. Experience of working in a large, complex transport function - ideally within temperature controlled/FMCG distribution
16. CPC Licence
17. Union Experience
18. A passion for encouraging teamwork, with an innovative approach to leadership
19. Excellent customer relationship-building skills
20. Strong commercial awareness
21. An analytical mindset with a good understanding of reporting and recording performance statistics
22. Relevant transport management systems knowledge
23. Flexibility to work within a fast-paced 24/7 business
