At Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities across England.

Where will I be working?

You will be working in our service in Broadstairs, supporting 4 individuals. We offer a 24-hour supported living facility, providing support for adults with Learning Disabilities. Our support is tailored to enable independence.

Support Workers are linked to work with specific individuals based on shared preferences and personalities, creating a bespoke core team. We are recruiting for one individual whom you will primarily support.

Support activities include meeting with friends or family, accessing health professionals, housework, shopping, day trips, cooking, holidays, and indoor activities like playing with dolls, makeup, building life skills, and independence.

We require a Female support worker. A driver is preferred. Experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities is essential.

Our clients have a range of communication, mobility, and health needs. The environment is quiet but active. The location offers good transport links, close to the train station, bus routes, town, and seaside.

Shift Pattern:

This is a 24-hour service requiring flexibility. Shifts vary from 7:00/8:00 am to 2:00/3:00 pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00 pm, including sleep-ins or waking nights, some weekends. Hours may vary by service.

** Sleep-ins are not required in all services.

*** Not all colleagues will work overtime; earnings may differ.


Role Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

This hands-on role involves supporting independence and daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, outings, and holidays. You will support residents' life skills, safety, health, personal care, medication, and record-keeping.

Salary: £24,290 (37 hours), £29,542 (45 hours), or £12.59/hour.
