Key Responsibilities
* Gain a full understanding of Pilgrim’s Europe Business – all divisions and functions that can impact food safety, quality, integrity & welfare (hereafter ‘Technical’).
* Maintain auditing standards and checklists in line with legal, customer requirements and industry best practice.
* Plan audit schedule and book audits, while remaining flexible to accommodate specific audit requests and 24/7 factory operations.
* Conduct and report audits professionally and on schedule; audit activities may be compliance or continuous‑improvement style.
* Follow up on non‑compliances raised in internal and external audits.
* Ensure audit department systems meet the requirements of all relevant certification standards and customer Codes of Practice.
* Liaise with customers or statutory bodies during audits and factory visits, delivering requested information and implementing corrective actions where required.
* Provide routine reporting on the auditing system and KPI reporting to the senior team.
* Provide support across the Pilgrim’s Europe Business where required, including travel to all sites.
* Carry out any other auditing or technical roles as required by the business.
* Contribute to the department and add value by developing requisite skills in line with Pilgrim’s Europe competency framework.
* Actively seek to reduce any negative environmental impact related to processes and procedures within their area, e.g. waste reduction, recycling.
Skills & Experience Required
* Management experience in a Quality/Technical role within the food industry.
* Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and databases.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9000, BRC standards, HACCP, food legislation and food hygiene.
* Report‑writing skills.
* Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, external contacts and management colleagues.
* Ability to travel between all Pilgrim’s Europe sites and agricultural sites.
* Valid driving licence.
