Job summary An opportunity is available for a service manager for Paediatric Emergency medicine and Children' s Outpatients in the Acute & General Paediatrics Directorate, Paediatric Medicine Division at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH). The Service Manager will provide support to the Clinical Service triumvirate working alongside the clinical lead, matrons and wider team to support the delivery of operational performance targets, including access targets, ensuring the delivery of financial balance and the improving the quality of services to patients within available income.This post offers an exciting opportunity to lead key transformational projects for Outpatients services across RMCH and the Urgent care programme in Paediatric Emergency Department.There is a requirement to participate in an on call rota. Main duties of the job Support the General Manager in ensuring that Trust and National Key Performance Indicators are met by taking responsibility for developing and maintaining robust management processes within the service area.Support the General Manager in ensuring that long term objectives of the Clinical Service are turned into effective, affordable and achievable action plans for the development of the service.Provide a cost-effective, high-quality service via the relevant managers and be support the Clinical Director in being accountable for the services delivered by jobholders who give direct care.4. Support the Clinical Director in ensuring services are delivered within budget and to agreed specifications and act as a resource and support to managers undertaking delegated roles.Develop and deliver an annual service plan involving a broad range of complex activities,some of which will be ongoing, agreed by the Clinical Director.Utilise and promote the use of all relevant information in making operational decisions, and in the formulation and implementation of service plans.
