Due to continued expansion and expanding their civil engineering capabilities into new sectors, our client, a Tier 1 contractor is seeking to employ a Bid Manager to work within their work winning team in their South Yorkshire office.Our diverse project portfolio includes:Highways and road infrastructureUnderbridges, overbridges, and footbridgesTunnels and station enhancementsFlood alleviation and resilience schemesEarthworks and embankment stabilisationLineside civils, cabling, troughing, and telecomsWe operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation, safety, and quality are at the heart of everything we do.The OpportunityAs a Bid Manager or Senior Bid Manager, you'll be instrumental in leading and coordinating bid activities across the South region. You'll work closely with estimating, commercial, and operational teams to develop compelling, high-quality submissions that reflect our capabilities and align with client expectations.This role offers the opportunity to manage your own bids while supporting larger, strategic tenders alongside senior colleagues. You'll report to the Regional Senior Pre-Contracts Manager and contribute directly to our work-winning strategy and business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage bid submissions from initial opportunity through to final submissionCollaborate with Regional Directors and Pre-Contracts teams to identify and pursue new opportunitiesCoordinate and compile prequalification documents and tender responsesFacilitate input from technical authors, estimators, planners, and delivery teamsWrite and edit technical and narrative content to ensure clarity, consistency, and impactChair tender progress meetings and ensure deadlines are metAnalyse client feedback and support continuous improvement in our bid approachContribute to post-tender reviews and lessons learnedSupport the development and implementation of work-winning processes and toolsAbout YouWe're looking for someone who brings a blend of technical understanding, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills. You'll ideally have:Proven experience in a bid management role within the rail or civil engineering sectorA collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across teamsStrong writing, editing, and presentation skillsA good understanding of civil engineering principles and project deliveryA relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
