We have an opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join our team at The Holmesdale School. This is a Term Time Only post plus 5 staff development days and an additional 5 days to be worked during the school holidays, particularly around exam results days.
The post encompasses a wide range of responsibilities therefore comes with an expectation of professional standards as well as administrative capacity
The successful candidate will be driven, a team player and have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with young people and a range of external agencies. The capacity to work methodically with accuracy and attention to detail is essential, as is:
11. A good standard of education including English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent with a minimum of a Grade C/4 or above.
12. Experience of working in a fast-paced office;
13. Being able to cope with interruptions;
14. Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and / or Google Suite;
15. An understanding of the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children and commitment to child welfare and safety.
An NVQ 2 in Business Administration and / or experience of using School systems such as SIMS or Brom Com would be an advantage but it is not essential.
Core Responsibilities & Required Standards
Accuracy and Professionalism:
This role demands exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Your application form will be treated as a key indicator of your commitment to these standards, particularly regarding spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Key Functional Areas:
16. HR and Onboarding: You will be responsible for managing the onboarding process for new recruits to the school and supporting various other essential HR processes. You will serve as an important liaison between the school and the Trust's Central Services HR function.
17. Office Support: Collaborating with the Office Manager to maintain the efficient running of the Admin function, which includes providing cover for the school Reception.
18. Exams and Data Support: Assisting the Exams and Data Manager, particularly during demanding exam seasons.
19. Procurement: Manage the ordering and inventory of all office supplies.
