* Salary Range: $91,990 to $119,698
Summary
The Assistant Project Manager oversees capital project delivery within the MTA Construction Development (C&D) LIRR Business Unit. Responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project documents, contractual requirements, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
The role involves monitoring project status, identifying risks and issues, assisting in management, coordination, field oversight, and inspections. The position requires coordinating activities with staff, contractors, consultants, and agency personnel to support the safe and efficient execution of projects.
Responsibilities
* Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects successfully.
* Coordinate project activities through to completion.
* Monitor performance against baselines and pursue performance improvements.
* Identify and address project issues and risks, ensuring timely resolution.
* Recommend solutions to senior management for critical issues.
* Manage project activities to minimize impact on operations and the public.
* Coordinate with project teams, staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and safety and quality protocols.
* Manage project documentation, progress, and reporting.
* Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
* Collaborate on project development, procurement, and evaluation processes.
* Review and approve contract invoices and charges.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation and control.
* Lead staff selection, coaching, training, and evaluations.
* Create an inclusive, professional work environment.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
* Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) preferred.
* PMP and CCM certifications preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and business administrative skills.
Other Information
