Job Advert Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Traffic Case Progression Officer in the Strategic Criminal Justice Department.

Please note that the working days for this position are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. However, flexibility is required as there will be a requirement to present in court, which occurs every week, as part of a 5-week rolling rota.


What you will be doing?

To be responsible for ensuring that consistent decisions are made in relation to road traffic collisions (RTC), traffic and other non-manual of guidance offences in terms of procedure and policy and to present specified offences/uncontested cases at Magistrates Court.


Role Specific Tasks

* To undertake decisions in relation to the disposal outcomes in respect of road traffic collisions, traffic and non-manual of guidance offences, including all fatal Road Traffic Collisions and to coordinate fatal Road Traffic Collision enquiries in conjunction with the Road Death Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and to ensure that they are progressed in a timely manner.
* Compile a Coroner's file for submission for an inquest hearing for Road Death Collisions where no prosecution offences are identified.
