Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to support a major highways programme focused on the adoption of historic development sites and the progression of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highways professional with strong technical knowledge and experience working within a Local Highway Authority, consultancy, or highways development environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the adoption of historic development sites under Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
* Manage technical reviews and ensure compliance with highway standards.
* Liaise with developers, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
* Review engineering drawings, specifications and supporting documentation.
* Coordinate site inspections and monitor progress towards adoption.
* Provide technical advice and support on highways development matters.
* Assist in clearing a backlog of historic sites and progressing schemes to completion.
Essential Requirements
* Significant experience dealing with Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
* Strong understanding of highway adoption processes and development control.
* Experience working within highways engineering, transport planning or civil engineering.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits.
Desirable
* Previous Local Authority highways experience.
* Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Membership of a relevant professional body.
