Overview
As a Sustainability Graduate, you'll be across our projects with the Social Value and Environmental team. You will work closely with Environmental Advisors and Social Value Coordinators to support delivering targets across a wide range of Kier Places contracts. You will proactively engage with project teams, subcontractors, and local stakeholder partners to establish and develop social engagement sessions that support local community needs. The role also involves ensuring environmental compliance through our system Rio, as well as reporting, monitoring, and analysing social value and environmental data.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside our Environment Advisor and Social Value Coordinators to deliver agreed Environment and Social Sustainability targets during the lifecycle of the project.
* Contribute to the Places strategy on Sustainability initiatives.
* Liaise with subcontractors to collate documentation and data for Environment and Social Value.
* Upload environmental information and documentation onto Rio ensuring legal compliance.
* Attend meetings with projects and the Sustainability team.
* Assist with arranging and delivering engagement sessions/workshops/events with local education, employability, and community-based partners.
* Develop technical and professional skills to improve performance.
* Build and expand professional networks.
* Gain insights into the industry and potential career paths.
What we are looking for / Qualifications
* Graduating in 2026 or recent graduates within the past three years, with a degree in Environmental/Sustainability or a related field.
* Data handling and using data to tell a story through verification and reporting.
* Committed to creating and sustaining relationships at all levels.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel as part of the role.
* Confidence in meeting and working with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.
* Willingness to support colleagues with environment and social value delivery (team player).
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
