A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for an Autism Support Worker in a primary school in Bristol. The school are looking for someone to start in September.
The role as an Autism Support Worker:
1. To support students who struggle with their class work
2. Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
3. To provide support to the class teacher
4. To help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
5. To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
6. To encourage children to do their best
7. Help manage classroom behaviour
8. Listen to the children read and practice their phonics
The successful Autism Support Worker:
9. You will need to be calm and compassionate. Personality is everything!
10. You must be able to take initiative well and problem solve
11. Have some experience working with children - desirable but not essential
12. You must be patient. Some students struggle with additional learning needs and need someone supportive to help them get through the school day
13. You must understand the importance of safeguarding in schools
14. Must have an enhanced DBS Check or be willing to apply for one
15. Must have right to live/work in the UK - we are not able to offer sponsorships
