As Senior Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing site operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of the project. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the on-site team, coordinate subcontractors, and work closely with the client, design team, and heritage consultants to ensure excellence across every phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day site management on a complex cut and carve commercial redevelopment.
* Drive programme delivery, cost control, and quality assurance.
* Manage and mentor a team of construction managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Collaborate closely with design and conservation teams to integrate modern interventions within listed building constraints.
* Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and sustainability.
* Maintain clear communication and strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
About You
We’re looking for a construction leader with a proven track record in delivering complex refurbishment or cut and carve projects, ideally involving listed or heritage buildings.
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in major commercial or mixed-use construction.
* Demonstrable success delivering projects £30m+.
* Strong technical understanding of structural alterations, temporary works, and listed building compliance.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
* SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, First Aid, and relevant qualifications in construction management or engineering.
