SEN Teaching Assistant with Healthcare Background in Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting. Your healthcare background will enable you to provide tailored support, understanding students' individual needs and assisting in their physical, emotional, and medical care where necessary.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support children with various SEN, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioural needs.
2. Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to students' learning.
3. Provide one-on-one or small group support, ensuring students are engaged in lessons.
4. Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs using your healthcare expertise.
5. Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
6. Liaise with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care and progress.
7. Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a safe learning environment.
Who We’re Looking For:
1. Healthcare background, with experience in roles such as nursing, care assistance, occupational therapy, or similar, involving personal care and supporting others.
2. Enhanced DBS check (preferably on the Update Service; we can process a new one if needed).
3. A recognized childcare qualification is preferred but not essential.
4. Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
