New Year, New Role – time to make a big difference to the resilient supply of blood components to hospitals.
Job Summary
You’ll be joining the Hospital Customer Service team leading on a nationally significant project working between NHSBT and hospitals to support resilience of the nation’s blood supply. Against a backdrop of stock alerts, we are keen to extend our partnership with hospitals to look for further improvements in ordering, stock holding and use and how NHSBT can best contribute to effective inventory management in hospital transfusion laboratories.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your transfusion and biomedical science knowledge to make a difference and help NHSBT maintain uninterrupted supply of blood components to hospitals throughout England. NHSBT is taking action throughout the supply chain from donation to issuing to hospitals. This role provides a focal point for partnership working between NHSBT and our hospital customers.
This role is for 12 months, and we believe the right person will make a big difference in this time. We will provide data, local knowledge, teamwork, management and clinical support. You’ll have regular contact with colleagues that provide services directly to hospitals, the Blood Stocks Management Scheme, Patient Blood Management and our clinical team. You will promote NHSBT and advocate for hospitals and their patients.
Note: Since this is a national role, you will be required to travel across England as and when business requirements dictate. However, the role does offer a hybrid working arrangement. You will be assigned a base location at one of NHSBT’s main centres or blood centres, which will be confirmed after the final interview and mutually agreed with the line manager during the verbal offer stage.
