The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion.
The Role
As a Senior or Principal Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer at Safran Electrical & Power you will have lead on the management of V&V activities for generator, control and motor drive engineering programmes. You will manage and coordinate requirements of the customer, determining the appropriate validation and verification methods, specifying test equipment and facilitating suitable tests and analyses. You will utilise the latest in aerospace technology, guiding and supporting engineers and projects during all aspects of product development.
* Participate and contribute to the development and implementation of the V&V strategy for engineering.
* Be prepared to frequently visit customers and suppliers, performing testing for Safran products.
* Support project teams to investigate problems and failures that occur, ensuring these are investigated during the development cycle.
* Be accountable for validating customer requirements, system requirements and line-replaceable unit requirements.
* Providing technical expertise to assist the setting up and execution of testing on Safran products with customers and suppliers.
* Responsible for writing, reviewing and approving engineering documentation.
* Carry out analysis of test results, determining trends, performance and reliability of our products.
Desirable Experience
We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:
* Relevant technical degree in engineering or aerospace.
* Experience in an engineering V&V environment.
* Familiarity with principles of design to cost, design for manufacture and design for assembly.
* Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 advantageous.
* Experience in data acquisition systems and analysis tools.
* Knowledge and experience of environmental testing standards.
* Evidence of written English at interview stage.
