Main duties of the job
All applicants should have the following qualifications:
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
* Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
* Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
Skills, including:
* Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services.
* Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning, and performance, and ensure all mandatory training is up to date.
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
* Commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.

Stanhope Surgery is CQC-rated good, with excellent QOF achievements.
We are a training practice hosting GP VTS Registrars, Cambridge University medical students, and Physician Associate students from the University of Hertfordshire.
We are located close to London on the M25, with good public transport links. We value work-life balance, supported by the Acute in Hours Visiting Service (A.I.H.V.S) for home visits.
Job responsibilities
Stanhope Surgery, based in Waltham Cross, is looking for a salaried GP to join their busy practice, covering 4-6 sessions a week.
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will support and care for a diverse patient group. Responsibilities include:
* Surgery consultations, telephone consultations, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and handling queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence promptly.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding medical problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers.
* Assessing healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Developing care plans in consultation with patients, following current disease management protocols.
* Providing health education.
* Recording clear consultation notes to standard.
* Collecting data for audits and QOF compliance.
* Delivering enhanced services.
* Preparing and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
