We have an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team as an Engineering Placement Student for a 12-month term. The role is open to candidates studying a STEM-related degree that includes a year in employment. Positions are available across our RMS UK business in Havant, Gloucester, and Westbury.
Candidates will gain experience working on programmes across Airborne Mission systems, Synthetic Training Systems and C6ISR. You will work as part of a team on real programmes, gaining practical experience across the engineering lifecycle and collaborating with disciplines such as systems engineering, systems integration, test & acceptance, and software development. Learning and development will be supported through mentoring from professional engineers.
Responsibilities
* Requirements Engineering and Concept of Operations: Work with systems engineers to define, document and maintain requirements at system, sub-system and software levels.
* Design Definition: Work with systems and software engineers to capture architectures and define technical solutions that meet customer needs.
* Detailed Design & Build: Work with systems, software and specialist engineers to implement the detailed design for embedded and application-level software systems.
* Integration and Test: Work with integration and test engineers as solutions are integrated from sub-system to complete system, including product verification, validation and acceptance.
* Producing, collecting and reporting appropriate metrics showing progress.
* Using metrics to guide decisions and for management reporting.
* Involvement in analysis and investigations of technical problems.

* Working towards a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or other STEM-related degrees.
* Good communication skills.
