Role Overview:
As Commercial Lead, you will oversee a team of 5 direct reports and various indirect reports, driving the commercial strategy throughout the project lifecycle—from contract negotiation to final account settlement. This multiphase development involves reviewing the initial masterplan and procuring new phases. The role is crucial in ensuring the commercial success of the project, aligning with the company's financial goals.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will collaborate with operational leads and the leadership team to embed best practices and governance, while supporting talent development within the department.
* Lead, support, and mentor a team of five, delivering reports to the SLT and ensuring robust final account settlements.
* Work with senior leadership and operations to develop project strategies and manage risks.
* Promote succession planning and professional growth of team members.
* Ensure compliance and governance across all contractual engagements.
* Represent the business in negotiations and dispute resolutions.
* Support the growth of the commercial function in line with company objectives.
* Require a strong background as a Commercial Manager/Lead, with experience on both main contractor and subcontractor sides.
* Proven leadership in managing commercial teams.
* Excellent understanding of commercial processes, cost control, and contractual frameworks.
* High emotional intelligence, calm authority, and effective decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confident negotiation abilities.
* Passion for coaching and developing individuals and teams.
