About the Role
Director-in-Residence in the Drama Department at Tormead School (selective independent school for girls aged 4–18). Fixed‑term (September 2026 to August 2027) part‑time (20–30 hours per week).
Responsibilities
* Support teaching, rehearsals, productions and the wider creative programme.
* Direct or co‑direct school productions from audition to performance.
* Assist with stage management, lighting, sound, costume and set planning, organising resources and day‑to‑day department administration.
* Work closely with students to develop their performance skills, technical understanding and confidence.
Qualifications
* Graduate or early‑career theatre professional with background in Drama, Theatre, Performance or closely related discipline.
* Secure grounding in performance and a developing understanding of directing live work.
* Strong relevant practical experience; genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people.
* Organised, adaptable and energetic with warmth, professionalism and commitment.
Working Conditions
* Flexible part‑time schedule (20–30 hours per week) arranged in partnership with the school.
