We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider in Preston, who are recruiting for a Maintenance Surveyor on a three month contract.
This is an urgent fill, but the client is happy to wait for notice periods if required. The hourly rate on offer is up to £35 per hour, paid through an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with reactive maintenance within a Social Housing provider, as well as access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Carrying out detailed property inspections, specifically focused on reactive maintenance
* Completing circa five surveys a day, depending on complexity of the surveys on a given day
* Diagnosing property defects including identifying causes of damp and mould
* Overseeing repair programmes from instruction through to completion, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes
* Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely communication and customer satisfaction
* Maintaining accurate inspection records and updating internal systems
* Providing technical advice to colleagues and assisting with health & safety compliance
Requirements:
* Proven experience in property surveying or asset management
* Strong knowledge of DMC and disrepair legislation, including Awaab’s Law and the Housing Health & Safety Rating System
* HNC or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Building Services, Construction, or related discipline
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

* 37.0 hours per week
* Monday – Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
