Senior Rail Systems Engineer – AECOM, UK
Join our Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team, focusing on rail projects as part of AECOM’s high‑profile infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Deliver – Develop system engineering plans and processes; undertake development of system definitions, technical requirements and architectures.
* Oversee – Manage technical requirements using tools such as DOORS and ComplyPro; deliver systems engineering processes that support customer requirements.
* Provide Expertise – Evaluate interrelationships of system requirements and design aspects; develop scope of works and work packages with clients; act as senior technical resource for the team and project.
* Ensure Quality – Provide specialized technical input to studies and design within your area of expertise; develop study and design procedures to enable high‑quality, cost‑effective work.
* Collaborate – Participate in multidisciplinary reviews of project deliverables; develop cost estimates and technical effort estimates; perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings; prepare technical specification sections; support engineering budget and schedule development.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Experience in railway systems safety and assurance, including system safety and interoperability.
* Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
