Job Description
The Associate Manager, Global Procurement is a professional role reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Procurement. This role involves managing Logistics categories, strategies, and projects to achieve positive outcomes, including developing category strategies, cost-saving initiatives, and global/regional sourcing projects focusing on Logistics such as distribution centers/3PL, drayage, outbound transportation, and other Logistic services. The role supports total cost supply chain strategies and collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Product Sourcing stakeholders.
This position is crucial for advancing Mattel's goal to become a World Class Strategic Sourcing organization, driving operational efficiencies globally through sustainable cost discipline and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end RFI/RFP processes, including vendor selection, negotiations, and project management.
* Develop and recommend category strategies based on data, market trends, and company objectives.
* Create analytics and presentations to identify savings opportunities.
* Oversee contracting and supplier negotiations to meet cost savings targets, mentoring team members in negotiations.
* Partner with Finance and Logistics to forecast spend and align financial targets.
* Lead supplier relationship management efforts with strategic suppliers.
* Share best practices to improve procurement activities and drive synergies.
* Review contracts regularly to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
* Promote the use of the Coupa e-sourcing platform within the team.
* Ensure legal documents are uploaded in Coupa for Europe.
* Develop and update a Logistics Road Map for the next 3-5 years.
Qualifications
Required Skills
* 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience
* BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Operations/Supply Chain
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
* Experience in building relationships and presenting to senior management
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel
* Fluent in English
Preferred Skills
* CPM or similar certification
* Background in CPG
* Financial acumen and contract development experience
* Knowledge of Coupa CSO and Contracting Modules
* Willingness to travel up to 10%
* Leadership experience
