About the role
The Koorie Connect Caseworker provides culturally safe, community‑centered support to Aboriginal people across Melbourne’s Northern Metropolitan region. The role delivers flexible case management through phone support, office appointments, and outreach, offering tailored guidance, assessments, advocacy, and referrals. The focus is on strengthening cultural connection, empowering community members, and ensuring they can access the supports needed to improve their wellbeing.
About You
You bring experience in delivering intensive, long‑term case work that includes assessment, goal setting, and supporting individuals and families to achieve meaningful outcomes. You’re confident advocating for community members, helping them navigate barriers, and strengthening their access to the services they need. You build strong relationships with other service providers and promote clear pathways for Aboriginal people. You maintain accurate client data, work in line with VACCA’s values and practices, participate in care team and external meetings, and contribute to the wider team when needed. You’re committed to ongoing learning, professional development, supervision, and carrying out additional duties that support the program.
Requirements
* Diploma in Community Services or equivalent
* Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.
* Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
