In our SEN school, we are looking for someone who can bring a positive and enthusiastic approach to coaching young learners with additional learning needs (ALN).
About the school-
The school caters to learners aged 3-19 years-old with ALN. This includes but is not limited to Autistic Spectrum condition (ASC), profound, multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and physical disabilities (PD). The school strives to support capable learners right the way through from primary ages to sixth form, where they are getting ready to take their next steps. The schools core values aim to underpin the students’ attitudes throughout their lives by nurturing the growth of healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives.
About the role-
- As a sports coach you will be expected to support the teacher in creating an encouraging environment for students of all abilities to participate in and learn about the importance of movement and team collaboration.
- You will work in smaller classes of around 5-10 students and may be asked to facilitate 1:1 support.
- Your support will be crucial both inside and outside of the classroom, as promoting and encouraging independence in students is key.
- Building meaningful relationships with the students and teachers alike is critical, as these will be relied on during high-pressure scenarios.
What we need from you-
- Child and Adult enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can help you with this).
- An Education Workforce Council (EWC) application (ask us for help with this if needed).
- References made available upon request.
- We do not require prior experience in working in a SEN environment or with children (although prior experience in working with those with ALN is preferred).
- You must have a genuine willingness to work in a SEN setting and a wanting to leave a positive lasting impression on all those you nurture, assist and work with.
- A resilient attitude and ability to quickly and calmly adapt in high-pressure environments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
