For 30 years Jisc has pioneered digital solutions for UK education and research, transforming how knowledge is created, shared and used.

We are uniquely positioned to protect, promote and lead the sector in digital and data transformation, making a difference to students, communities and society. Together, we are

Raise your potential at Jisc through our culture of lifelong learning. At Jisc, we're all about growth, so embrace new challenges, sharpen your skills and shape a career that excites you.

The role:

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will support the delivery and continuous improvement of data collection processes that underpin our statutory service offer. You’ll develop a strong understanding of the data submission journey, statutory requirements, and quality assurance processes—ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and organisational needs.

You’ll be part of a team that combines product, data, and technology expertise to manage data quality across multiple streams. You’ll build expertise in artefact creation (e.g., quality rules, reports, tolerances), apply quality assurance methodologies, and support both internal teams and external providers through your work.

What you’ll be doing:

* To apply and evolve data quality assurance methods, including validation stages, data profiling, and rule creation using in-house tools.
* To evaluate and monitor the integrity and consistency of submitted data against statutory requirements and business rules.
* You will create and update artefacts such as quality rules, derived fields, credibility reports, tolerances, and process documentation.
* You will support knowledge-sharing initiatives and participate in peer reviews to enhance team capabilities and confidence.
* To collaborate with stakeholders across internal functions and HE providers to ensure quality assurance outcomes align with product and compliance goals.
* You will engage with the Business Change Request process, supporting impact assessments and providing SME-level insights on data quality and submission workflows.
* Capable of using tools like SQL Server Management Studio and Tableau to query data, generate insights, and monitor quality.

What we are looking for:

* You will have a foundational knowledge of data quality principles, QA dimensions (e.g. accuracy, completeness), and validation workflows.
* An understanding of data protection compliance (e.g. GDPR) and secure data lifecycle practices.
* You will have strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
* Be experienced in working in an Agile environment with exposure to QA or data collection tasks.
* Have familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* You will be experienced in querying data and contributing to quality monitoring or analysis.

Qualifications and training

* Higher education qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* Minimum GCSE level (Grade C or above or equivalent).
* High level of numeracy and attention to detail.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, so we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet 100% of the requirements, but if you feel this role is perfect for you. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!

Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value, so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.
