The Role
As the Deputy Head of In-Service Support (ISS), you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting our customers delivering on their missions and creating a safe and secure world. This programme provides a critical role in connecting our front-line commands, government partners and allies. It is an important capability for ensuring UK security and prosperity.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for driving cohesion of activities across multiple delivery teams, functions and stakeholders to deliver outcomes acting as the right-hand person of the Head of ISS (In Service Support).
We are on a mission to transform military space communication services for a new era, for new challenges and you'll play a critical leadership role in delivering this transformation, whilst maintaining service commitments and inspiring both existing and a new generation of people and talent.
You'll support the promotion of our space communication capabilities, working with the Head of Service Delivery, Head of ISS, and the Head of Integration to ensure we maintain the integrity of our service delivery whilst transforming our service for the future.
1. Responsible for deputy leadership of our technical and service delivery ISS teams, building a strong delivery ethos with the right collaborative behaviours and positive culture.
2. Responsible for the safety, regulatory compliance and cyber security of our products, services and infrastructure
3. Responsible for ensuring appropriate governance and process is in place across the ISS teams, including delegation of technical authority and decision making, and that it complies with the Mission Systems processes.
4. Ensure we deliver to our customer and end user service commitments whilst maintaining our commercial and financial commitments to the Mission Systems sector.
5. Proactively identify new solutions and technologies to improve our capability offering.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home. You will be required onsite as and when, depending on the business needs.
Essential Experience of the Deputy Head of In-Service Support
6. Demonstrable experience of leading high performing teams with exceptional people skills.
7. Experience in Technical delivery, service delivery and business management.
8. Experience in Strategic Communications, Space based communications or telecommunications.
Qualifications for the Deputy Head of In-Service Support
9. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant professional experience. Business Masters degree preferable.
10. Must hold a valid UK Driving License.
