About the Opportunity
Amentum is currently seeking an Apps Support/DevOps Platform Engineer as part of a team that delivers the infrastructure for critical applications and development tools running within a secure environment. We are looking for platform engineers to work with support teams and developers to support our customer. The Apps Support/DevOps Platform Engineer will focus on administrating, maintaining the infrastructure used to deliver the services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain virtualization infrastructure to support applications in the client environment
2. Management of Azure DevOps infrastructure
3. Plan, coordinate, and execute deployment of container upgrades to pre-production and production environments
4. Create and maintain documentation of infrastructure and configurations (architecture diagrams, procedures)
5. Provide first and second-line support for platforms used to host software applications
6. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application, and performance issues reported by users
7. Escalate complex issues to third-line support or development teams
8. Implement automation and optimization strategies to enhance platform performance
9. Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex technical issues
10. Document processes supporting infrastructure and applications
11. Engage in continual service improvement for system performance and operational efficiency
Note: Due to system classification, remote work is not permitted; support team members work flexibly to ensure a constant presence during working hours. No out-of-hours SLAs are associated with this system.
Requirements:
1. Management of Active Directory including GPO, ADFS, ADRMS, DNS, PKI, virtual and physical servers (Windows and Linux), and VMware vSphere environment; Azure DevOps experience
2. Knowledge of Windows/Linux monitoring tools, SQL, and container management (Docker/Podman)
3. Experience in high availability environment development and deployment, platform support, DevOps practices, and application support processes
4. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and effective collaboration across teams; excellent communication and customer service skills
5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
