This role is for a weekend-only position. As an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. As an Assistant Chef, you will cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents love. You’ll support our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, Resident wellbeing will always be your priority.
HC-One is seeking an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond qualifications, we value your positive energy, ability to get along with others, organization skills, punctuality, presentation skills, and adherence to recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
