Applicants are invited to apply for a temporary Support for Learning Assistant post based at Deanston Primary School.

The post-holder will report directly to the Head Teacher.

Duties will include developing positive supporting relationships with children; supporting physical, social and mental wellbeing needs; promoting the school’s inclusive ethos; assisting children to engage in learning through individual, group or whole class activities; providing pupil support during lunch and playtimes; and liaising with teaching staff regarding pupil progress and planning.

You must have achieved competency with Literacy and Numeracy skills; have good organisational and communication skills; be able to work flexibly as part of a team; relate well to children and have an inclusive, nurturing approach to working with young people. Having First Aid training and an understanding of neurodiversity are also desirable for this post.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.
