Job Purpose: The Construction Delivery Manager oversees activities related to the construction of a specific section of the project, focusing on the installation of pressurized rotating equipment during mechanical erection, from civil handover to commissioning. Responsibilities include on-site supervision and ensuring safe, efficient project delivery. Operating Environment: Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site in West Somerset, near Bridgwater. The project involves constructing two EPR nuclear reactors. The role involves supporting the site construction team, with a focus on delivering mechanical equipment installation safely, on time, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include logistics, planning, monitoring, and liaising with authorities and clients. Principal Accountabilities: Support contract partners in delivering their work packages efficiently. Recommend and implement measures to address safety and quality concerns. Record daily site activities, report issues, and escalate as needed. Coordinate with site functions and other managers to ensure effective communication and reporting. Participate in technical meetings and record outcomes. Conduct safety and assurance inspections. Maintain clear communication with the Construction Delivery Lead. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Experience in project delivery, construction sequencing, and resource management. Understanding of CDM Regulations. Experience with shaft alignment and concentricity. Mechanical assembly/disassembly skills for pressurized components like centrifugal pumps and industrial gearboxes. Ability to produce clear reports. Leadership skills to motivate teams and build trust. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams. Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience. SMSTS or IOSH certification.
