Management Accountant - 6 month contract - CheshireFinance Department | Reporting to Financial ControllerAccountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to appoint a Management Accountant to join their finance team on an initial 3-6 month contract (opportunity for temp to perm).This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take on a broad, hands-on role with high visibility across the business, working closely with the Financial Controller and key stakeholders.The RoleAs Management Accountant, you will provide high-level financial support, playing a key role in the production of monthly management accounts, forecasting, and financial analysis, whilst supporting strategic decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and rolling forecastsSupport the production of the monthly board reporting packConduct detailed cost analysis across all business areasAssist with product costing processes and updatesAnalyse stock positions and product costing variances, driving improvements in stock accuracySupport the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans with key cost ownersPerform daily cash reporting and bank reconciliationsPrepare quarterly VAT returns for reviewPost journals including accruals and prepaymentsRaise and reconcile sales invoices across multiple income streamsSupport the year-end audit process and resolve queriesPrepare and raise payments including AP and payroll, ready for authorisationIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencyConduct credit checks on new customers to minimise riskContribute to and lead ad hoc finance projectsWorking Hours39 hours per week (Monday-Friday)Start time between 7:30am - 8:30amMonday-Thursday: 8-hour days (excluding 30-minute unpaid lunch)Friday: 7-hour day (excluding lunch)About YouImmediately available for temporary assignmentsACA / ACCA / CIMA qualifiedProven experience producing management accounts within a finance functionStrong Excel skills (comfortable handling and analysing data)Excellent attention to detail and highly self-motivatedStrong communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholdersAble to work independently and escalate where neededExperience handling confidential financial information appropriatelyContinuous improvement mindset with a proactive approachWhy Apply?Broad and varied role with exposure across the businessOpportunity to partner with senior stakeholdersSupportive finance team environmentOpportunity to add value through process improvement and strategic inputTPBN1_UKTJ
