Coxlease School, located in the heart of the New Forest in Lyndhurst, is a specialised independent school for children aged 9 to 18 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and other related conditions/needs. With a highly experienced team of staff and therapists, Coxlease School provides a nurturing and supportive environment where students can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The role of the Therapy Assistant/ELSA is to work within the Therapy Team to support our learners to achieve their outcomes in line with their ECHP.
Duties may include:
* Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activities
* Observing recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriate
* Managing a caseload of students
* planning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions
* Assists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environment
* Creation of initial supporting documentation
* Ensures the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files
