Position:
This opportunity, in partnership with the Barrett Centre of Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture, involves supporting our CiCan Campus Living Lab project. The project models a holistic campus food system focusing on waste management, food literacy, security, sustainability, and community engagement.
We seek a passionate student interested in culinary arts, urban farming, sustainability, and food waste reduction. You will work with supervisors to implement our field-to-fork model on our urban farm, managing produce, supporting circular food economy initiatives, and assisting with data collection and logistics.
This role offers practical experience on an urban farm, supporting a Feast On-designated restaurant operation, and participating in community outreach.
Required Skills:
* Food Handlers certificate
* Experience in kitchen environments and with kitchen equipment
* Food processing, handling, and quality assurance
* Knowledge of food waste management and composting
* Inventory management skills

Compensation: $18.56/hour
Experience & Hours: Approximately 426 hours total, up to 18 hours/week over six months, ending December 2024. Flexibility for evenings and weekends.
