Position: Transport Planning Manager

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will be responsible for the accurate transport planning across the Evri Premium network. Your team will produce daily transport plans for the operational teams, which include collections, deliveries, interhub trunking, reverse loads and depot plans. You will need to consider operational resourcing and service needs when planning and amending transport plans through direct communication with our clients as well as the hub and depot transport teams.
Key Role Responsibilities:
* Creating the Hub transport & Depot transport plans across the network
* Taking ownership of the Ortec & Paragon systems
* Formulating daily trunking schedules and communicating it effectively to your relevant operational stakeholders
* Understanding operational progress and plan vs actuals via live and retrospective report generation and KPI development
* Setting a strategic vision and ensure this is communicated & understood within the wider team across the network.
* Influencing the network through the use of statistics to develop the correct plans.
* Delivering cost savings and continuously evolve the function.
* Setting and monitor performance through KPIs.
* Leading and developing the team by fostering continuous improvement & ingenuity.
* Creating peak plans – working with cross functional teams to understand key business needs and deliverables across the network.
* Reporting on the telematics
* Confirming the trailer requirements
* Running & producing business reports including client performance & transport.
* Lead operational planning - Plan vs Actuals analysis and action.

What We’re Looking For
* Ability to demonstrate previous success working in a senior planning role CILT qualification preferred
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills – essential
* Demonstrates a passion for planning
* Experience of risk problem solving, analysis, necessary change management principles incl. appropriate cost leadership
* Experience of working in a regional role with multiple stakeholders
* Experience of the transport and logistics industry
* Transport planning experience essential
* Leadership experience preferred
* Strong analytical capability
* Ability to use data pro-actively to identify risk issues to enable effective corrective plans and actions.
* Ability to re-assess and allow for changing priorities in workload.
* Ability to display initiative, confidence, and professionalism in all interactions.
* Can quickly develop an understanding of key issues and evaluate data to enable effective decisions to be made.
* Understands the ‘big picture’ but does not lose sight of the detail when necessary.
* Builds collaborative partnerships with key business functions to understand & realise mutual goals.
* Highly proficient with MS Excel, and other MS Offices packages
* Experience of using Paragon and Ortec.
* Consistently delivers on promises and ‘make things happen’.
* Constantly strives for excellence through direct actions, taking ownership and responsibility for issues and establishes clear accountabilities of all stakeholders.
* Is not easily deterred when obstacles or delays are encountered.
* Schedules time on a regular basis to discuss opportunities to innovate and improve.
