About the Organisation
We are a fast-growing provider of childrens residential care and education with:
5 childrens homes currently openacross Staffordshire & Derbyshire
6th home opening by Christmas
Multiple additional homes planned throughout 20262027
Services for children aged 518with Learning Disabilities (LD)and/or Emotional/Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Homes offering 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 staffing ratiosdepending on needs
Embedded therapeutic modelwith on-site therapy support
Two new specialist schools launching (SEMH & LD/PD)
A strong operational infrastructure including: 2 Operations Directors, 2 Registered Individuals, an Operations Team, HR Manager and HR Advisors
Recent Ofsted inspections rated multiple homes as Good, with new homes successfully opened in 20232024
The RI will be based at Head Office when not visiting homes across their allocated cluster.
Role Overview
The Registered Individual (RI)provides senior leadership, regulatory oversight, and operational guidance across multiple childrens homes. This role combines compliance, quality assurance, and managerial support to ensure high standards across all homes within the cluster.
Key Responsibilities
Provide line management and oversight to Registered Managers
Ensure all homes achieve and maintain Good or OutstandingOfsted ratings
Maintain full regulatory compliance and safeguarding standards across homes
Support new home openings, including pre-registration planning and setup
Oversee quality assurance, audits, and improvement plans
Lead or support through Ofsted inspections and regulatory visits
Embed a child-centred and therapeutic approach across all homes
Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and daily practice meet high standards
Support staffing stability, leadership development, and workforce retention
Manage complex cases, escalations, and multi-agency working
Build and maintain strong relationships with external professionals and local authorities
Initially, the RI will oversee approx. 23 homes, expanding as new services open.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Must be an experienced Registered Individual
Strong track record in Ofsted compliance and regulatory oversight
Experience overseeing multiple homes or managing a large, complex home
Expertise in LD/EBD care and safeguarding
Confident in operational and strategic decision-making
Desirable:
Experience in new home openings
Experience in fast-growing providers
Strong quality assurance and improvement planning background
