Business Development Manager (East)
Location: UK East (with frequent travel required) Department: Sales Are you ready to drive growth and build lasting relationships in the mortgage intermediary market? We¿re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Sales team and be the public face of our brand. This role will look after the following areas so the successful candidate will need to be located locally for easy travel: Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ilford, Ipswich, Norwich, Romford, Southend-On-Sea
What You¿ll Do
1. Develop and manage accounts with mortgage intermediaries in your region, generating high-quality mortgage completions.
2. Represent our brand at regional events, trade roadshows, and exhibitions.
3. Ensure intermediaries fully understand our products, target market, and criteria.
4. Focus on business quality, volume, and mix to achieve monthly targets.
5. Build strong relationships with brokers, winning new and incremental business¿including active engagement on LinkedIn.
6. Identify and convert prospect accounts into key supporters.
7. Collaborate internally to address quality issues and uncover opportunities.
8. Organise and attend seminars, exhibitions, and corporate hospitality events.
9. Promote additional financial products as required.
10. Construct and deliver a regional Sales Plan using our data tools.
11. Use CRM systems to manage activity, monitor performance, and compile market intelligence.
12. Ensure compliance with FCA principles and company policies, including Treating Customers Fairly and financial crime prevention.
What We¿re Looking For
13. Knowledge of specialist lending mortgage products and a clear understanding of company policies and procedures.
14. Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
15. Confident working with figures and tracking performance.
16. Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel/stay overnight as needed.
17. Educated to at least A level standard or professional equivalent (e.g., FPC).
18. Committed to ongoing professional development (CeMAP qualification).
19. Proven experience in business-to-business sales within financial services.
20. Strong track record managing IFA and intermediary relationships.
21. Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Office, CRM databases, Teams/virtual media).
22. Regulatory knowledge relevant to the sector.
23. CeMAP/CF1 & CF2 qualified or working towards qualification.
