Neonatal Home Care Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse roles at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). The closing date is 09 November 2025.
Band 6 - Neonatal Deputy Home Care Sister/Deputy Home Care Charge Nurse. The post holder will join the Neonatal Home Care Team, based at NUH with cross-campus cover to Kings Mill Hospital. We are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and experienced children’s or neonatal nurses, or midwives with neonatal experience, to be part of our homecare team. The post holder will help to provide a comprehensive service by supporting a 7-day working week for home care and contributing to the new home phototherapy service. Being part of the Neonatal home care service at NUH also means you will work within the north hub region of the EMNODN, offering opportunities to network, access training and support, and gain knowledge in other neonatal services within the network. Travel across the region may be involved.
Main duties of the job
These posts are specialist nursing roles. You will touch the hearts of families by building relationships and providing emotional support, helping them through their experience. You will see families’ confidence grow and empower them to care for their baby from admission to discharge, to the journey home. It is a unique experience to enable families to participate in decision making about their baby’s care, with your support.
Band 6 Neonatal Deputy Home Care Sisters / Home Care Deputy Charge Nurses based at NUH are required to promote safe, early discharge of babies from the neonatal units, transitional care and paediatrics. Families will be supported by providing ongoing care needs in the home environment, for example nasogastric tube feeding at home, management of oxygen at home, ongoing care for surgical babies, and jaundice management of babies requiring phototherapy at home. The Home Care team plays a pivotal role in family care. The service enables earliest, safest discharges home to bring the whole family back together.
