Job Purpose
To oversee our Sealants and Adhesive manufacturing sites located in Plymouth UK, Dublin Ireland, and Haifa, Israel.
This role will be based in our Plymouth England UK site in support our overall Sealant and Adhesive Product Category. This product category is responsible for supply of high-quality Sealant and Adhesive medical device products with a cost base of approx. £50M+. This role will lead a team of approximately 110 people including Production, Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Supply Chain, with oversite of critical projects relating to new product release industrialisation and site expansion activities. These activities will be carried out in collaboration with functional areas in respect to Quality, Research and Development, New Product Development and Regulatory Affairs.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
* Represents Plymouth site operations as part of the Sealant & Adhesive Product Category General Management, working closely with the group functions to ensure development and execution of a strategy which delivers year on year improvement and standardisation.
* Accountable for managing all aspects of the end-to-end production process within the Plymouth site, and ensuring performance delivery against targets encompassing Financial, Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Logistics, Planning & Purchasing, New Product Development launch, site expansion and industrialization activities.
* Accountable for strategy-setting and acting as point of escalation for significant issues across the Product Category also ensuring the local management and their respective teams to deliver against targets encompassing Financial, Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Logistics, Planning & Purchasing.
* Accountable for promoting and delivering against a culture of right first time, GMP compliance, continuous improvement whilst leading and driving processes for initiating and executing improvement projects to support the expansion and growth of the Sealant & Adhesive Product Category.
* To develop and manage operational budgets and product standards, including accountability for performance, reporting and meeting customer service levels.
* Assuring an optimized manufacturing operation that complies with all relevant quality and other regulatory standards. Accountable for effective corrective and preventative actions to eliminate gaps and ensure consistent compliance and right first-time controls
* Effectively leading in resource planning for the Plymouth site, including S&OP processes, overseeing new product industrialization, process introduction, and key site initiatives collaborating with functional areas to ensure delivery and success to plan.
* Accountable for cultural development of the sites, to share best practices and identify opportunities of optimisation and standardisation.
* Building collaborative relationships with principal contacts (especially peer group) and relevant external organisations. Ensuring that the team is committed to high performance, ethical behaviour and good employee relations.
* Support in development and implementation of the vision and long-term strategy for operations across the Sealant & Adhesive Product Category.
* Safeguarding our ISO 13485 certification and delivering right first-time quality product.
* Ensuring alignment with the Company Vision and Values.
* Ensuring the operations team is supporting the product development process to deliver new product launches.
* Guide, coach and mentor employees in the execution of their roles and supporting them with their personal development.
Knowledge & Skills
* Proven success in a complex manufacturing environment overseeing multiple departments.
* Strong experience in leading operations in a regulated industry.
* Expert knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
* Strong leadership qualities and motivational skills.
* Relevant Degree (or equivalent) or higher education with appropriate experience
* Significant experience of high-level management within a complex operations/manufacturing environment in a regulated industry environment.
* Excellent teambuilding, decision making and influencing skills.
* Sound experience and understanding of project management best practice.
* Ability to respond flexibly to change.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Minimal travel expected.
