Working under the Senior Process Engineer, the Process Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of engineering improvements and capital projects, whilst supporting the wider improvements in the engineering function across the ICL Group. The engineer will be responsible for working with the rest of the engineering and project team to implement various improvements, whilst supporting the operations and maintenance teams in plant optimisation and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
* Provide support for process engineering activities across the ICL Group's chemical manufacturing sites.
* Work alongside the document control team and 3rd party CAD designers to update and maintain the company's process engineering documentation (e.g. as-built P&IDs of the manufacturing facilities).
* Review process engineering requirements for engineering improvements and projects, working with production managers, process safety specialist and the C&I team to develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, process narratives, equipment specifications and other typical documentation to enable a project to be fully engineered and delivered.
* Assist in the optimisation of existing plant, both individually across each site and also by ensuring consistency across identical processes across the Group.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements relevant to chemical manufacturing.
* Participate in hazard studies (Hazid, Hazop, Lopa etc) and Management of Change reviews to ensure that designs and modifications are safe and appropriately engineered.
* Conduct risk assessments, root cause analyses, and engineering reliability studies.
* Provide technical support for breakdowns and production issues where necessary.
* Commissioning of new and upgraded plant.
* Support the Senior Process Engineer and Group Engineering Manager in developing the standards and procedures required to improve the engineering function across ICL.
Qualifications
* We are looking for someone who is motivated, up for a challenge, and has a strong work ethic to join our Engineering team at our West Thurrock site. A strong communicator of technical and safety information, both verbally and in writing.
* Able to comprehend complex technical data and engineering specifications.
* Works well within a wider multidisciplined team.
* Experience working on Upper Tier COMAH sites.
* Experience with Management of Change and other PHAs.
* Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
* Chartered Engineer status preferable.
