Job title: Procurement Engineer

Salary: £41,361+ (Depending on skills and experience)
What you'll be doing
* Support and lead procurement activity across assigned equipment and suppliers and travel to supplier or customer sites as required
* Drive value-for-money solutions in response to customer and programme requirements, including the negotiation of terms and conditions, price agreements and resolve contractual queries
* Monitor supplier performance and help manage supply risk
* Understand budget and purchase order requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to enable delivery whilst engaging collaboratively across internal functions (e.g. Engineering) to meet programme objectives
* Support programme and design reviews as required and support Life Cycle Management, bid and product strategies
Your skills and experiences
Essential:
* Ability to build trust and influence internal and external stakeholders
* Familiarity with supplier risk management and supply chain resilience
* Experience of working in a complex programme or project environment
* Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office and ability to interpret data and present clear recommendations
Desirable:
* Some experience of contract negotiation or knowledge of procurement language and terms
* Relevant procurement or commercial experience
* Ideally working towards MCIPS or another professional procurement qualification or alternatively, a degree (achieved or working towards) in a relevant discipline

The Capability Insertion Procurement Team
Join our Capability Insertion Procurement Team, where you'll play a key role in securing resilient supply chains and driving successful outcomes across complex development programmes. Supporting portfolios in Avionics, Training and Weapons, the team works closely with internal colleagues and external suppliers to deliver effective commercial solutions, manage contracts, and champion continuous improvement.
With regular supplier engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and support towards professional qualifications (CIPS/MCIPS), the team offers excellent opportunities for growth and career development within Procurement.
