Job Overview:
We are seeking a Joiner who will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of joinery and carpentry tasks across the Sellafield site, ensuring all work is completed safely, to a high standard of quality, and in full compliance with site-specific nuclear, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role is Temporary role - Weekly paid - Fully on-site.
Key responsibilities:
1. Carry out first and second fix joinery works.
2. Read and interpret technical drawings, method statements, and specifications.
3. Work within live and controlled environments, following strict permit-to-work systems.
4. Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and nuclear site standards.
5. Comply with Sellafield Ltd policies, site rules, and behavioural expectations.
6. Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
7. Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times.
8. Identify and report defects, hazards, and near misses.
9. Work collaboratively with other trades, supervisors, and site teams.
10. Support site inspections and quality checks when required.
11. Health, Safety & Compliance
12. Adhere to all Health & Safety at Work regulations and Sellafield Life Saving Rules
13. Follow RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) at all times
14. Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions
15. Maintain a strong nuclear safety culture and human performance standards
Here's What You'll Need:
16. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
17. Proven experience as a joiner on commercial or industrial sites
18. Ability to work accurately from drawings and specifications
19. Strong understanding of health & safety requirements
20. Good communication and teamwork skills
21. Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
22. Ability to pass security clearance and site vetting
23. CSCS Skilled Worker Card
24. Experience working under permit systems
25. Awareness of nuclear safety culture or high-hazard environments
26. Experience of installing & maintaining fire doors (FIRAS accredited or similar)
