Overview
Throughout London, Cancer Services are currently undergoing significant change, and Urology Diagnostic demand is increasing. As part of this, our Urology service is developing to meet the needs of a large, diverse population. This exciting opportunity aims to facilitate faster diagnosis for patients on a 28 day pathway by providing care and support for patients on suspected Cancer pathways. We are seeking individuals who can work alongside our nursing and medical colleagues in Urology to ensure optimum care for our patient. The main purpose of this role is to be an integral part of the team delivering the Faster Diagnostic service to the Urology pathway. The post holder will be involved with the professional running and contribute to clinical leadership and operational management of the Faster Diagnostic Services. The person will act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management and clinical responsibilities.
We operate from two main sites - King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We are campaigning to secure funds to transform our A&E and improve patient care. We have a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year. We employ more than 8,000 staff from 146 different countries and are committed to flexible working; more than 400 are on Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programmes. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
We are looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record that will be transformative for our staff and beneficial for our patients.
