Maintenance Technician - Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC Location: Glasgow Contract: Full-Time Salary: £33389 per year What You’ll Be Doing Lead all Planned and Preventative Maintenance (bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc.) Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance and due diligence Maintain all physical and electronic records, certificates, and logs Chair the hotel’s Health & Safety Committee Liaise with contractors and suppliers for repairs, servicing, and installations Manage the maintenance budget with an eye for cost-efficiency Carry out risk assessments and document all incidents (including RIDDOR) Train staff in key areas: H&S, fire panel/evacuation, manual handling Respond promptly to team and guest maintenance requests Perform routine repairs in lighting, plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and decorating Execute regular fire alarm, sprinkler, and water safety tests Operate technical systems (BMS, HVAC) and hotel platforms (Opera, GXP) Maintain clean and safe workspaces, indoors and out—including green areas Read and record energy usage and meter data What We’re Looking For Essential Proven hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and record-keeping Experience with minor repairs: lighting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating Able to work independently and stay well organised Physically fit and comfortable with manual work Friendly, professional, and a natural team player Fluent English speaker with clear communication skills Confident using tech systems and tools Desired Experience managing Planned and Preventative Maintenance programmes Familiarity with fire/life safety systems (e.g. sprinklers, alarms, panels) Knowledge of hotel tech systems like BMS, GXP, and Opera Experience handling departmental budgets Ability to train colleagues in core H&S and operational areas Prior involvement in Health & Safety Committees Why Join Us?
