Terminal Controller – Grangemouth, 12 months FTC
About the role
We are seeking a Terminal Controller at our Grangemouth site to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch, and transfer of client products. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety, fire, security, and environmental policies among drivers, contractors, and terminal staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Comply with all safety and environmental policies and procedures
* Be familiar with the On Site Emergency Plan and take roles in emergency scenarios
* Supervise receipt and dispatch of products to road vehicles
* Ensure drivers follow safety rules on loading bays
* Manage driver queries at loading bays and control room
* Prepare product lines for shipping and pipeline receipts according to operating instructions
* Operate the site weighbridge as required
* Monitor contractor compliance
* Carry out maintenance tasks and inspections, reporting damaged equipment
* Maintain high standards of site housekeeping
* Work according to standards meeting COMAH requirements
* Ensure tasks conform to company policies and procedures
* Promote safety, staff health, and wellbeing
About You
The successful candidate will follow written procedures, respond calmly to alarms, and be prepared for lone working at night or weekends once trained. The role involves outdoor work in weather conditions with PPE provided. You should be able to halt unsafe activities and report them promptly, possess good communication and computer skills, and have industry experience in fuel terminal processes. Trades experience (mechanical/electrical) and relevant qualifications such as HNC, BTEC, or process operating qualifications are advantageous. Willingness to travel to other terminals for training is expected.
