We operate one of the world's largest third‑party service centre networks, providing OEM‑quality overhauls and repairs, full technical and AOG support, logistics management and rapid turnaround times.
A vacancy has arisen for an EH&S Specialist responsible for the management of all EH&S programmes and issues to protect employees from industrial accidents, occupational and environmental health hazards, and fire.
Responsibilities
* Write, review, update and implement EHS programmes, procedures, reports and training as required by RTX / Collins Aerospace policy and UK regulatory agencies.
* Inspect, audit, assess and sample all facility activities to ensure environmental compliance as required by law and directed by the Business Manager.
* Follow the EH&S Management System and drive corporate initiatives, analyze and assess trend data and facilitate relevant environmental training.
* Provide data to corporate and collect EH&S metric information and various reports.
* Assist in the development of environmental policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement of EHS programmes, including management systems. Train, coach and mentor others.
* Partner with group leads to investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root cause and provide corrective action that eliminates repeat occurrences.
* Develop, coordinate and present training programmes for EHS subjects required by UK and company requirements.
* Manage wellness programmes.
* Maintain liaison with regulatory agencies.
* Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline.
* Make a significant contribution to the team by applying knowledge of the discipline.
Qualifications We Prefer
* Bachelor's degree in EHS or related discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
* Relevant EHS experience, especially within an engineering & facilities environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of UK laws and regulations concerning EHS.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience creating and presenting EHS training.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Access).
